This Week...

There is no math homework this week. I want to spend some extra instruction time on the beginning lessons of Chapter 8, Addition and Subtraction to 20 before I send home homework. Your child will bring home their Journeys book tomorrow night and read The Big Race. Spelling Words were sent home, but are also posted under the Spelling List page on at the top of the blog (Week 14). I apologize for not getting a Newsletter out, but wanted to fill you in on few details. Stay warm and safe tonight!

*Electronic Party*
As a class we earned our 20th cookie today for our “Baking up Good Behavior” cookie sheet.  Since we received 20 compliments the kids get to have a party of their choice. They voted to have an electronic party. With this being said your child may bring an electronic or toy to play with tomorrow (January 14th). There are other activities and games that I will have available for kids to play if they are unable to bring something. I am very proud of the kids’ hard work and their awesome behavior! I look forward to letting them enjoy a fun afternoon tomorrow. Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions. Thanks!

Two sheets of homework were sent home last night with HOMEWORK on them. There was some confusion since I left earlier yesterday, but I wanted to clarify that only one of the homework sheets needs to be completed and turned back in Thursday.

Merry Christmas

We had a great time at our pancake party! The kids enjoyed getting to wear their pjs to school and watching the Polar  Express. I'm so thankful for this group of kids!

Literacy Council

Today Cody's dad came and read to us on behalf of the Literacy Council! Thankful to have supportive parents and community members that help encourage our youth to be readers.

Bright Futures Fall Party

Our Bright Futures sponsors had a fall party for us today. The students had fun participating in pumpkin bowling and competing to see how many marshmallows they could stack on top of each other. They also enjoyed eating wonderful treats and snacks. We are grateful to have the United Methodist Women our classroom sponsor and appreciate them giving of their time, treasure, and talent.
