Hi, my name is Abby Wright. I am originally from Nixa, MO. I attended college in Springfield, MO, at Drury University, where I played basketball for four years and then graduated in 2013 with a degree in Elementary Education. While attending college, I participated in several practicum experiences in 1st grade classrooms, and I ended my undergrad student teaching in a 3rd grade classroom. Overall,1st grade was my favorite! I love seeing the growth and success of students at this age, especially as they progress into stronger readers. This will be my fifth year of teaching 1st grade at Henry Elementary, and I am looking forward to another AWESOME year!
In addition to teaching, I love sports! My favorite sport is basketball, but I really enjoy watching baseball, especially the St. Cardinals (actually I only like watching the St. Louis Cardinals)!
This is my husband Tyler and I. We have been married and lived in Clinton for 4 years. Tyler and I like adventures. Our favorites are exploring trails and traveling.
This is our little fur baby, Miss. Chloe. She is Shorkie that is very playful and cuddly. We kind of think she is the cutest and most precious thing ever:)
I am so blessed to have a career I absolutely love. Teaching allows me the opportunity to inspire and touch kids lives in a positive way. What I cherish most about my job is building lifelong relationships with my students. This career goes beyond teaching kids academics, it's about giving children the love, support, and guidance they need and deserve. I treasure kids simplicity, matter of fact attitudes, and love for life. Their frequent hugs and unavoidable germs, along with their unique notes and drawings will never get old. These things just add to the fun of teaching. My job is truly a gift that continues to reward me daily.
